Yes, you're right. The nfs-server was lx 2.2.16 (nfs.sf.net says loudly
to use at least 2.2.19), the client was 2.4.18. Now both are 2.2.21, and
everything works fine :)

The problem occured only when moving a file. The file gets moved (at
least on the server), but since then it isn't readable at all for a
time, or until a remount. That was why the messages showed up, but with
no content. 
Strange, isn't it?
