Thanks for everyone's suggestions thus far. I have made the change to prevent ident and dns lookups in the esmtpd configuration. I also stopped and started...rather than restarted my server. I'm still having the same problem where it takes several minutes for courier to display the 220 banner when hitting port 25.
Can anyone out there (Sam?) suggest what else might be wrong, or help me in providing some diag info that would help you guys in figuring this out?
