There was a problem in imapd.rc pop3d.rc script.I removed /usr/bin/env
from these scripts and its working fine.
regarding gmake check failing:its resolved I configured by supplying the
follwoing
env CC=gcc CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/ssl/include
-I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.0/include"
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.0/lib -L/usr/local/lib" ./configure
-with-db=db
and its working fine.
