i found out, that if a spammer (idetified by a realtime blacklist) receives the 550 of whatever he gets from courier and decides to ignore it (which does not conform to rfc, but if i were a spammer i would figure what the heck), and continues to send data the esmptd does not hangup but logs some strange things which look like parts of the sent message or smtp commands to the logfile...
