The bug is probably with Courier, in that it comes with silly default
configuration settings. Have a look at the file
  /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd
or its equivalent on your system. Make sure that MAXDAEMONS and
MAXPERIP are set to sensible values. Restart Courier.
