I'm doing just that: rewriting certain message contents (adding SpamAssassin commentary) from perlfilter.
Problem is, some of the messages end up semi-scrambled. Part of the added headers end up duplicated in the message body. This seems to only happen to MIME messages; I haven't seen the problem occur with plaintext messages.
