I installed qmail-ldap for Maildir delivering. Everything is working fine with it. The problem comes using the pop3d courier package. I've configured the authdemondrc and authldaprc files under /etc/courier and started both servers with "authdemond start" and "pop3d start" Whenever I try to log in the pop3 server, I got an "-ERR Login failed." after issuing the login and the password. As I haven't found the way to log/debug the connections (the simply --stderr=file of couriertcpd is not enough to debug the problem) I ran tcpdump to capture the conversation between the LDAP server and the courier server. The conversation seems to be OK, but it stills fails. The homedir of the tried user has writeable/readable permissions for the user defined in "LDAP_GLOB_UID" and "LDAP_GLOB_GID". Can somebody give me some tips on which could be the problem at a first glance, and/or how to debug more courier (without having to use strace or something like that ;-) ? Is somebody running qmail-ldap and courier pop3 successfully ?
