I have a sendmail server with AUTH LOGIN PLAIN. My clients are Outlook and Outlook Express, versions from the last 3 years. All work when configured for client authentication, none work when client authentication is off. Not that this list has anything to do with sendmail, I just thought that it might be good to know that the client authentication piece in MS Outlook /Express seems to work fine.
