i have been using courier mta for half a year now, and after the initial configuration, i haven't changed anything when i updated the version (only make install, no make install-config). up to now that always worked, and when i downgraded the executables to the version 0.39.3.20020928, everything worked perfect again (had to do so, as this is a production server).
