Hi All,

I have a problem. When I installed my courier server (with userdb for
virtual domains), I configured all user $HOME and $MAIL as the same
directory (my mistake). Now, I feel this is a major scalability problem.

I am writing a script to move $MAIL to $HOME/Maildir now. My mistake
is now compounded by the fact that there are files that should be in
$MAIL, and there are files that should be in $HOME. My users access
their mails via POP/IMAP/Webmail. So, if anyone could tell me what files
should I leave in $HOME, and what files should I move to $HOME/Maildir,
I'd be happy. I have about 200 users on one server, and many times more
on another. The first one is for about 5 domains, the second for about
50 or so (so its not a task that I can do manually).

I'd like to have a list of files created by courier (pop3/imap/webmail
modules). I am inclined to think that except for webmail, other modules
create files only inside $MAIL. (Any other way to go about this is fine).
Primary consideration is that webmail customisations should not be lost,
and also quota settings etc.

Secondly, I also want to move to PostgreSQL. Can I use the crypted
password found in the userdb files, or will I have to reset all user
passwords? Also, can I have additional columns in the table used by
Courier (say a GECOS field, for a later program that can search for
users on the local database, for example - or to store Yahoo/MSN IDs
and phone numbers - I suppose this shouldn't create problems to courier).
