I've had this problem with the full courier-suite since v0.38 (the first
version used) running on a Redhat 7.2 with the latest RH-updates.

I get the rpm built by running the command 'rpm -ta
courier-0.XX-X.tar.gz' as an usual user, then installing the packages
(rpm -Uvh --nodeps, since I have a non-rpm installation of the
webserver) as root.

The problem is that the imap does work only almost. I can log on as a
normal user, but no messages are shown. If I try to copy a message from
another (working) mailbox, I got the following error-message in
/var/log/maillog:

Oct 27 22:20:30 gw imapd-ssl: Failed to create cache file:
./tmp/1035750030.18876_imapuid_3.host.domain.net
Oct 27 22:20:30 gw imapd-ssl: Error: No such file or directory

I googled an article which explained that there were missing
directories, tmp, new and curr. I created the directories and restarted
courier as well as the MUA. Now when I try to do the same operation I
only get the following error-message on the MUA:

Error while 'Moving messages to imap:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/INBOX' IMAP
command failed: [ALERT] Cannot create message - no write permission or
out of disk space

No error is written to the log-files.

Furthermore the webadmin seems to have a mind of it's own regarding the
'Local mail delivery'-setting. Although I check the '$HOME/Maildir'
option and press the Save-button as well as the 'Install new
configuration' link on the main-page the setting still resets to 'Use
custom delivery instructions:' with the value '/Maildir'

On what distributions/versions has the rpm-build been tested?

BTW. the mail-archive on sourceforge (I use Galeon 1.2.6)
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=6705 seems to be
b0rken, the date-links for a given month all produces the same list of
articles, all beginning from the end of the month. Are there any other,
working, mail-archives?

Poltsi
