Yeah, the imap error logs aren't much help. If you're using PAM, then check the auth logs. Also, if you're using secure login, it never worked for me. But it does with Mail that comes with OSX, so I think it's an Entourage problem. In fact, test with OSX Mail, see if you get the same result.
