Hi

I'm running qmail 1.03 and courier-imap 1.6.0 on an RH 8.0 box.
Courier-imap is started from qmail's qmailctl script by adding
/usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/imap.rc start to the start section of
qmailctl. The ADDRESS in /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd is set to the
host's address, not 127.0.0.1. couriertcpd opens port 143 on the host.
However, when I do a portscan of the host from the outside, port 143
doesn't appear on the list of open ports. There's no FW blocking the
port and xinetd does not have an imap entry. I can telnet into port 143
when I'm sitting on the host courier-imap is running on so I know the
service is up and running. What am I missing? Do I have to create an
imap access database similar to the smtp access database used by qmail?
I've followed the steps outlined in Dave Sill's "The qmail Handbook".

Best Regards
