A year and a half ago I had to do that with about a thousand users.I need to move about 150 users from an existing Cyrus installation to a new Courier installation. I'd like to preserve their existing configuration as much as possible: IMAP folders, flags on messages, etc. Has anyone here done such a thing? What software did you use?
It was a disaster. I ended up doing for "mail in *; do cat $mail | \
sendmail -t; done" and dumped all their old mail as new in their
inbox. To top the joy of the users, a good part of that mail was
then refused by courier for non-RFC-compliant 8-bit stuff...
Later I came across some perl script on the net that does this more
elegantly, but I can no longer remember where. Google is your friend.
