i am currently running qmail + courier(imap, imap-ssl, pop3, pop3-ssl) from debian woody (imap 1.4.3-3.1 & pop 0.37.3-3.1).
i want to stop running the non-ssl processes and just run the ssl ones. but a number of people with accounts use opera to download their email and i dont seem to be able to get opera's 'tls' to work with my daemons. my other mail clients work just fine. outlook express just needed the 'this server requires a secure connection (ssl)' clicked and they were ready to go and fetchmail just needed the '-ssl' flag added (and anyt of the -sslproto flags) while opera boasts being 'the first commercial browser to support TLS. not only the opera web client, but the email and news client support the tls protocol' it does help me out much except for an error message of: ### Account: TEST The mailserver responded: -ERR Invalid comand. ### this message is the same in opera6 and opera7b. in my logs i just have the following: ### Nov 29 21:46:16 mail courierpop3login: Connection, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.12] Nov 29 21:46:16 mail courierpop3login: Disconnected, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.12] ### i would like help in solving this opera compatibility issue if possible. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T handheld.
