I've seen this problem posted a lot with a lot of different suggestions and no results. I've tried many of them with no luck.
I have courier-imap running with vpopmail and I am using squirrelmail as the web interface. Rebooting the server almost always lets me log in for a while; sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 24 hours. It always ends up giving me an authentication failure at some point. Here is what I've tried: - ./configure --without-auth<pam,ldap, etc...> and --with-authchkpw - set version="authdaemond.plain" in /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/authdaemonrc - restart authdaemond.plain every five minutes - chmod 644 /home/vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.a - ./configure --without-authdaemon - in /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/authdaemonrc, modify authmodulelist many different ways, including just having authvchkpw in there - increase daemons= in authdaemonrc - increase maxperip in imapd I've tried more but that about sums up most of what I did. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've been trying things for about 10 days now. -- Robert Horn ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: Thawte.com Understand how to protect your customers personal information by implementing SSL on your Apache Web Server.
