Hi All,

I recently figured (from the posts here) that if I have a "mail" entry
in userdb along with a "home" entry, then maildrop is not used to deliver
mails whatever the setting is in etc/courierd for DEFAULTDELIVERY.

I want to use maildrop (vacation messages, autoreply, filters etc. will
work only if maildrop is used, isn't it? Plus there is a need to
incorporate spamassassin). But unfortunately, I have userdb entries for
both home and mail (and both are the same directory).

I was wondering about the two options open to me:

1. Write a script to drop all mail= fields from userdb, maildirmake the
Maildir inside home, move everything from cur/ and new/ to Maildir/cur
and Maildir/new. Also move ./courierimap* to ./Maildir/. Move ./.[^.]* to
./Maildir/ too. (Do I move ./sqwebmail* as well?). rmdir cur, new and tmp.

2. Set MAILDROPDEFAULT in etc/courierd to . insted of ./Maildir. Drop
the mail= entries from usedb as above.

To me, (2) above seems far easier, and hence probably will break easier
too. Please let me know which approach should I go for.

TIA,

Binand
