[Using Courier-IMAP 1.6.0 on Mandrake 9.0]

        I found this in my /etc/courier/imapd:

TCPDOPTS="-nodnslookup -noidentlookup"

        I'd like to know what these options mean, and what other options
are available. I found the following example on the net:

TCPDOPTS="-forcebind -nodnslookup -noidentlookup"

        ...but the page I found it on was in French, and I haven't learned
how to speak French yet.

        What are the possible options and what do they mean? (If this is
documented somewhere, a simple URL/reference would be perfect.)

        Next, I'm having a problem where idle IMAP connects (over SSL) are
dying. (I think it's our DSL provider--I'm also having the same problem
with idle SSH connections.) These are IMAP connections that are simply
waiting for new messages to come in, using the IMAP_ENHANCEDIDLE=1
feature.

        Is there anyway to have the IMAP server send some kind of No-op
message, just as a keepalive? (I'm hoping one of the entries for TCPDOPTS
could be "-keepalive" :). Any other strategies? Is there, for example,
some way to configure the Linux TCP stack to send empty packets
every-so-often?

        Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Derek Simkowiak
