[courier-users] not able to send emails

I've a problem sending emails trought smtp. (with local programs like mutt it is no problem)
In the mail.log i found this message:
Feb 4 19:35:05 janus courieresmtpd: started,ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.189]
Feb 4 19:35:06 janus courieresmtpd: /usr/lib/courier/courier/modules/esmtp/authstart: cannot read authmodulelist.
Feb 4 19:35:06 janus courieresmtpd: error,relay=::ffff:192.168.1.189,msg="535 Authentication failed.",cmd: AUTH LOGIN
But i'm not able to find any reason...
I've checked username and password about 200 times...
Pleas help me.
