Follow-up: [courier-users] Outlook 'CAPABILITY' command is sent without
password...
Follow-up: [courier-users] Outlook ask several time the passwd if not
set to 'remember password' on a TSE server

Hi,

I think I must do some stupid elementary mistake but I really need some
help.

It is the third message I send to the list and I did not get any answer,
so I am even wondering if I sent my messages in a wrong way, or I did
some mistake that anger some people against me. In this case, I beg your
pardon.

It is also possible that I do not send enough information, in which
case, I can send more. It is also possible you find Outlook is a too bad
imap client and is not worth courier-imap. In either case, feel free to
answer this mail.

Since my previous messages, I have reduced the error to the following:

In some condition (password set to be asked at start by outlook (box
"remember password" unchecked)), outlook send a "CAPABILITY" command.
The command is accompagnied by a login (normal login) and a blank
password which causes an authentification error. This is not the case
for the first login/password (command = LOGIN) couple which is OK.

Here is the log file with a high debug level:

My Configuration:

I am using debian-testing as distribution. I have tried the latest
version of courier-imap:

courier-imap-1.7.0.20030209

(but the error was also there with: courier-imap-1.6.2)

my configuration line is the following:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/courier-imap --without-authdaemon
--with-authpwd --enable-workarounds-for-imap-client-bugs

(but it was also tested with following:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/courier-imap --without-authdaemon
--with-authpwd )

Thanks for any help.
