Courier-IMAP 1.5.3
LIDS (2.4.18 kernel)
Red Hat 7.2
I'm trying to get Courier-IMAP working with LIDS (Linux Intrusion Detection System). I need to find out which Courier daemons need to read the /etc/shadow file so that I can write an ACL for them to allow them to work under a LIDS-enabled kernel. I installed Courier in /usr/local/courier-imap. I tried the sbin/imaplogin, sbin/pop3login, libexec/authdaemond, libexec/authdaemond.ldap, and libexec/authdaemond.plain, but none of them work.
I found a LIDS script for Courier and it said that I need to give the authpam file access to /etc/shadow. The problem is that I'm using authdaemon, so I don't have authpam. I'll switch to authpam if I can get it to work, but I've always installed Courier using authdaemon. I'm not sure what the difference is.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris Purcell
