We have Courier IMAP (tested versions 1.6.1 and 1.7.0 compiled with the
default settings (other than --prefix).) tested on both Solaris9 and
RedHat 7.3 (2.4.20 kernel) with the Maildirs stored on a Netapp 820
running 6.3.1.

Were using plain PAM authentication and everything works well except
that Outlook Express (latest version under XP with the latest patches
from Windows Update) gives the following error when you have a folder
set to download 'headers only' or 'new messages only' and you hit
"send/recv":

Message is no longer available on the server Outlook Express is
unable to retrieve the requested message because the server no
    longer has the message available.

If you have it set to "all messages" everything works fine. Deleting
the local cache and pulling down all the mail lets the client see the
messages it previously thought didn't exist just fine. Of course this
isn't acceptable in a production environment.

None of the other IMAP clients we're testing have this problem.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Todd
