Hello courier-users,

  I'm installing courier-imap 1.7.0 on a Red Hat 8.0 bare installed. I'm
just installed openssl 0.97, openssh 3.5p1, daemontools 0.76, ucspi-tcp
0.88, qmail 1.03 and vpopmail 5.2.1. I'm compiling courier as a non-root
user as instructed. But this gave me the problem that /var/vpopmail/lib
is 700 root root so I can't compile the vpopmail support.
The second problem is that I've got a (couldn't copy, so quoting from
memory):
  error: expect not found
warning: webmail won't be able to change passwords!
Where can I donwload expect?

This is not an error. It's a warning message that you can ignore.

My third problem is that I've searched the list and many people have
asked about vpopmail and courier. And I recall installing them in the
2000 and worked perfectly. But now I've read about this userdb thing and
I really don't understand how does this relates. I mean, how does userdb
configures qmail to recieve those users?

It doesn't. It's up to you to configure qmail to deliver mail to wherever userdb indicates mail gets delivered. How you do that is up to you.
