I have just upgraded to courier-imap 1.7.0. One of my users had folder names that had plus signs (+) in them. Attempting to view mail items in these folders with Squirrelmail gave a respose of "invalid mailbox". Renaming the folders to remove the plus signs caused everything to function normally.
Is there a list of permitted characters for folder names anywhere?
There's nothing wrong with the "+" character.
Now, since the "+" character is used to encode spaces in URLs, it suggests a possible problem with Squirrelmail not correctly %-escaping the + character in folder names.
