I am running FreeBSD 4.7 with Postfix (not espcially relevant to my problem) and am trying to install courier-imap 1.7 (or 1.6).
My problem, as best I can judge, is that
/usr/local/libexec/courier-imap/authlib
which is where I figure the authentication programs should be, only has authdaemond and authdaemond.plain.
Right now I just want it to work and plain unix password authentication would be fine. For this I assume (sic) I need authpwd. But the only place I can find it is in the distribution (I tried to cheat and put in /usr/local/libexec/courier-imap/authlib maually, but that didn't work too well (forget exactly what it said)).
I tried to run run ./configure with --with-authpwd, it didn't complain but it didn't fix my problem. Indeed there was no visible change.
I tried to install both from the most recent FreeBSD port and from source. I essentially get the same results.
TIA Bernard Higonnet
