open-relay is now disabled in Courier, due to security bugs in vpopmail's implementation, which they have not addressed
yet.
Use authenticated SMTP.
Easier said than done, got a lot of people that would not be understanding of that. :-) Have the vpopmail developer(s) been notified of these problems? They don't seem to have knowledge of this on the vchkpw list. Is it a problem that is documented so someone can work on it?
