I am a longtime Courier user (since 0.37) and recently set up a new box with the whole Courier suite. Most things work as expected, but I have been getting abysmally slow speeds from the IMAP server. The problem seems to affect both normal IMAP and IMAPS operation, and really rears its head when it comes to attachments. I sent myself a 5MB file as an attachment and tried to read the message it from another host on the same network using Mozilla mail, and was getting speeds of less than 1 kBps. FTPing a file at the same time, between the same two hosts, I was getting throughput of almost 60.

Trying to read the same message in Outlook caused Outlook to crash after a few minutes (no huge surprise there).

I still haven't ruled out a routing or hardware misconfiguration, though I strongly suspect the problem lies somewhere else because of the tests I indicated. I've been working 12 hours a day for the past two days, frantically trying to figure out what's going on (this is a live system).

Does anyone have any experience with a similar problem?
