Sam, I too would be interested in hearing if you had after all decided to work on this following the previous thread, or whether it's still something you choose not to implement.
I'm mostly just curious. No pressure or anyth-- well, maybe a teeny-weeny bit of pressure, since I _would_ like to see it -- but hey, you're doing all this for free... so a big, fat "no pressure" from me. :-)
Basically, I'd just like to know what your stance is after the close of the earlier thread. Because I don't think you responded to that thread again after a few "pro" reasons were stated. -- So are you a) still not planning on supporting it, or b) working on it already, but don't have anything ready to share yet, or c) considering it for the future, but don't have any time to dedicate to it yet?
TIA for an update!
(And, btw... If Sam's not working on it, would anyone else be interested in taking a crack? I would myself if only I had more skills in C than I do. But unfortunately I'm mostly limited to Perl, JavaScript, XSLT, etc. Very little compiled languages experience.)

Hello
I had posted one question to this mailing list before. The subject of the mail is "Cannot the user flag be used for courier-imap?". Please excuse the repetition of the content.
I am sincerely hoping the thing that the courier-imap supports "client-defined flags". Because I have a problem now.
I am developing mail client (MUA) by Java. The MUA has a function which "Client-defined flags" is indispensable. But, this function does not operate because "Client-defined flags" is not supported in Courier-imap.
I know UW-IMAP and Cyrus-IMAP support "Client-defined flags". But, I like Courier-imap very much. I want to keep using Courier-imap in the future.
I tried to change the source code, but I could not change. It was very difficult for me. Therefore, I respect the developers of Courier-imap. And, I am hoping that the courier-imap supports "client-defined flags".
Thank you. ---------- Takae Kanai <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
