Define "shouldn't". The configuration file setting simply sets the IMAP capability string. That's it.
Understood. So how should I go about preventing this from occuring (plaintext LOGIN, that is) with these broken IMAP clients? (besides switching to tls, which is not possible here). Or is not possible at this point?
