Even though /etc/courier/sizelimit contain 1048576000 and smtpaccess has
no explicit limits set.
 
Where does the limit comes from ?

From whoever you sent this message to. This is not an error message from
Courier.  You can set sizelimit to a zillion petabytes, but everything that
exceeds 50 megs will be rejected by that mail server.
