Hi all :) I have set up and tested Courier (full version) and everything appears to be running OK.
I successfully completed the mass-mail test as per the instructions, so know that courier-core is there and handling my mail :) Now I want to access mail using IMAP, and so have set 'IMAPDSTART=YES' in /usr/lib/courier/etc/imapd, and am using the sample RC script to bring it up. I can see all the courier and IMAP processes running, and can telnet to port 143 ok, so I know it's there and listening. Here is where it starts to fail :( I am using authdaemon for authentication, and for the sake of keeping it simple, /usr/lib/courier/etc/authdaemonrc is set with authmodulelist="authshadow". Now I know this works for local access (it had to be to pass the test) but I cannot log into the 'test' account that I created over IMAP, just disconnects with no errors I can see (please, if anyone can tell me where to look for errors :)) I AM NOT SURE if I have created the 'test' users maildirs correctly. Please can someone confirm (with an example) what I should issue at a command prompt to create a new user and maildirs ? Any help greatly appreciated :) Regards, Geoff ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The best thread debugger on the planet.
