Hi, my name is Daniel and im trying to install courier-imapd + postfix +mysql on a Red Hat 8, but i cant telent to localthost port 143 , i have followed all instruccion to configure courier,
I somehow doubt that. Most people (including myself) never follow all the rules the first time. :)
but i cant login succesfully, if anyone can help me i ll be gratefull.

First, your problem description is flawed. You can clearly "telnet to localhost port 143"... you just can't log in when doing so.

This second setting is not supposed to be changed. I don't actually know of any way it could cause you a problem, but it does tell you to leave it alone. It is not like the one above it. (Might put it back just for safety's sake, but I don't think it's part of your problem.)
Anyway... Have you tried making sure: A) that the authtest script returns appropriate data? B) and if not, that mysql is getting an appropriate query? (it appears it should be getting the right query, but it never hurts to check), C) that you have the information you think you do in the database? (by running a manual query perhaps, particularly checking that imapok/bool1/bool2 are set properly) and D) that you created the Maildir (and properly) in the location where courier is actually looking for it?
