I am running courier 0.42.2-1.8.0.i386 and
courier-webmail-0.42.2-1.8.0.i386
When I try to update some of the preference settings in WEBmail I got this
message returned to the browser.

Is this a known problem ?
Yes. The permissions or the ownership of your maildir is not set up
