This weekend i upgraded from 0.39 to 0.42.2
Everything works now, except one thing. From behind our firewall it takes forever to connect to the esmtp server. (i checked it via telnet, the msg "220 mx1.vermoe.dk ESMTP" takes about 10-15 seconds to appear)
Before i upgraded everything worked fine. From outside the firewall everything also works like it should. Now before i tear apart the firewall, has anyone else experienced this ?
Either the forward/reverse DNS is not working, or your firewall is dropping identd queries.
No, but perhaps you've manually turned off reverse DNS and ident, and that was turned back on by default after the upgrade.
where would i turn of those ?
In the esmtpd configuration file, TCPDOPTS="-nodnslookup -noidentlookup".
