Hi,

I'm pretty new with the courier-mta suite but so far I've managed to get it
working in a way I can understand in most areas with one exception.

When I use the webmail server to send a message with an attachment to an
outside receipient the name and extension get changed to something like
ATT53534.ATT from what is originally an excel spreadsheet.

If I use Kmail and SMTP there is no problem.

There's no problem because nothing is changed.

You only think the name of the attachment is changed because that's what the mail client tells you.

Read the actual headers in the message, and see for yourself that there's absolutely no reference whatsoever to any attachment that named like that.

It's probably a generic attachment name that's created by the mail client due to its inability to properly parse MIME headers.

After confirming for yourself that the message is intact, and in fact tags the attachment with a proper filename, file a bug report for your mail client.
