Interesting and scary thought... If what you are saying is in fact what happened Joe, then in theory, a non-root user could make a config file (intending to forward their own mail) that takes out the whole server by "sticking" a process.
Seems like a pretty big problem when you consider than many webmail problems are starting to open up filters and so on to the users who might just screw them up (they do have a history of this ya know) Does anyone care to verify if this is the cause?
