Hi all,

I was just researching a small problem I'm having with a filter and I ran
across a thread from Jun 15. That thread was discussing how to stop spam
before it ever got to the server.

Strangely enough, my filter that I'm working on does just this(or rather,
did). I had it working on courier .41, but can't for the life of me, get it
to work on .42.

I would be more than willing to post the entire set of code if somebody can
help me work through it. I don't have a problem doing it myself, but my
time these days is severely limited, so the more hands and eyes, the better.

It uses SpamAssassin, and will reject any spam before it ever reaches the
filesystem, and notify the sender via a bounce that their mail was spam.
This means real spammers will never see it, and inadvertant spam will be
notified so it can be resent.

If anybody is interested in this, let me know. Also, if it has already been
done and the creator(s) are willing to share, I'd be up for that too.

Either way, I think its a pretty decent concept, and its mainly the reason I
went with courier in the first place.

Also, if anybody is a guru at filters and would like to maybe help me track
down my problem, I'd sure appreciate it.

I have posted a couple post previously which Sam was kind enough to reply
to. It didn't help me solve the problem though.

Thanks,

Bill
