Hi,
I have the following problem with squirrelmail + Courier-IMAP.
When I try to login from squirrelmail, I get the following error:
<error>
ERROR: Connection dropped by imap-server.
Query: LOGIN user "some_user" pass "some_pass"
</error>
That happens only the first time though. The second time I log successfully.
The nasty thing is that the error shows the password in plain text.
Any suggestions how to overcome this and hide the password?

The squirrelmail list is upstairs and 2 doors down the hall on your right. =)

But the basic idea for the second part (hiding the password) is that you'd need to change the PHP code (squirrelmail is in PHP, isn't it?) to not include that in the error report... Which is what leads you over to the squirrelmail list, because you're unlikely to get an answer here about where that might be located in the squirrelmail PHP code.

As for the first part (overcoming this), I suspect it's a squirrelmail problem too, if it fails once then succeeds as you say. Because I've personally never seen Courier behave that way. -- But if you're convinced there's something wrong in Courier, someone here would need more details to go on than what's above. Like maybe a transaction log of a sample session between squirrelmail and Courier during which this type of failure occurred. Or at least a relevant sample of syslog output if nothing better.
