[courier-users] courier-imap authentication problems

Hi all, Thanks for the answers! I have a problem which may be trivial, but still I haven't managed any progress on it in several hours of working and reading docs. I have installed qmail and Courier-imap on RedHat Linux 9 using the same account in Outlook Express, or any other imap client that I can lay hands on, fails in this way: Any attempt to get the list of folders fails with the error code 800cccd1 at the client, and the message 'LOGIN FAILED' in the server maillog. Like Following msg Login failed.   Configuration:    Account: mingjing.ca (1)    Server: mingjing.ca    User name: mingjing    Protocol: IMAP    Port: 143    Secure(SSL): 0    Code: 800cccd1 Attempting to read mail authenticates OK, then disconnects without downloading email. Of course, the folders aren't set up correctly. I tried many ways of modified /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd, change the AUTHMODULES paramenter, tried authdeaemon, authpwd,authpam, almost everything, Only authdaemon let me do the authorizing step, all the other option, the IMAP server even disconnect. Any ideas as to where I should start looking? many thanks Regards Jing Ming
