Hi all,
Well, I am still having trouble with my mailq. It seems that the
memory based queue is always full (still) and local deliveries are being
dropped to the disk queue and never retreived again (cause the queuelo is
never reached and if it was, there would be no room in the memory queue to
read new messages anyway).
I have tried many different things and think the biggest issue is
that I have a number of messages in the disk queue which are slowing down
the deliveries. I have tried running a cancelmsg on these junk messages,
however, it has not removed the message from the queue as the dsn still
has to go.
Perhaps the problem is with my module.function files. Here are my
current PRIORITY, MAXDELS, and MAXHOST values. Please let me know if I am
way off base with these settings (note, I am not using uucp or fax):
module.dsn
PRIORITY = 99
MAXDELS = 50
module.esmtp
PRIORITY = 50
MAXDELS = 100
MAXHOST = 90
MAXRCPT = 100
module.local
PRIORITY = 10
MAXDELS = 1000
MAXHOST = 900
If these settings are not way off base. And if there is no way to
delete messages from the queue without generating a bounce, is anyone
interested in doing some consulting for me to help optimize my production
server which has been lagging for a month? If you are interested in
having a look for a reasonable cost, please respond directly to me and we
can get started.
