Hi

I am using courier imap 2.0.0 on redhat 8 (using SMP
kernel). I have twin 3.06 Ghz processors on the
machine, and 4GB ram.

I have a problem whereby the imapd process will "lock
up" and grab 99% of the cpu (as shown by top) and it
will not let it go. this only seems to happen
randomly. I notice this when the machine becomes
sluggish and then the load average climbs to about 50.
Sometimes this occurs when only 5 users are connected
so I dont think its a problem of really having too
much load. Does anyone have any experience with this
kind of bug?

Did you upgrade to 2.0.0 from an older version? There is a known bug that will cause this if you upgraded without running 'make install-configure'.

If you upgraded from an earlier version, and did not run make install-configure, run it now and restart.
