After running fine for years, the esmtpd side of courier (0.42.2) is suddenly choking. My users can get mail (pop3 and imap) but not send. You can connect, but it never responds. Via telnet, sometimes it responds after a minute or more. (mail.epackage.net if anyone wants to test it)
I found the source of this problem. One of the servers in the BLACKLISTS (esmtpd file) had gone down. Every esmtp connection required a long wait for a timeout.
