Hi, I'm wondering if the spec for IMAP searches, using BEFORE/SINCE/ON calls out to search based on the "Date:" header, or is it supposed to search on the message file's date?
The reason I ask is I have several messages whose file creation times are several days after the actual date on the Date: header, and these show up in the search results when I typically did not expect them to appear. So for example, I performed a search like this: UID SEARCH SINCE "Sep-20-2003" And the result set returned a bunch of messages that had their file timestamp as 9/22, but the Date: headers were as early as 8/21. So I guess that the search is being done based on the message file's timestamp. Is that the correct implementation? I imagined that it would match based on the Date: header... ?
