I am using Courier 0.42.2 and experience a lot of (abt 20% of all connect attempts) time out. A typical maillog example may look like this: Oct 14 18:51:56 mail2 courieresmtpd: [::ffff:193.180.36.171]: Connection timed out I got the impresseion (from some where) that many of those is due to the fact that the connecting mailserver does not send an HELO or EHLO properly.
No, it's not. The connecting mail server failed to send any command in a reasonable period of time.
Is there a way to further debug the reason for the time out ?
