I see a message with no body has made it into one of my users' mailboxes: Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from sd11.snazzydeals.com (sd11.snazzydeals.com [64.94.51.161]) by raw.laffeycomputer.com with esmtp; Mon, 20 Oct 2003 13:56:57 -0500 Received: (qmail 31193 invoked by uid 501); 18 Oct 2003 06:41:54 -0000 Date: 18 Oct 2003 06:41:54 -0000 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: recipient list not shown: ; ------------------------------------------------
Note that there is only the newline at the end of the Cc: recipient list not shown: ; line. The --- are added by me. That is the whole message. This is choking me client's pop client. Should courier even accept message like this? Beyond another external program to fix the message (like I did for the bad DSNs from sbcwebhosting.com) is there any way to prevent this? Obviously, anything that requires admin intervention is undesired. I am not saying an admin shouldn't keep an eye on things. I am just saying he or she shouldn't HAVE to ;-) This also seems to open users up to a DoS, simply send them a corrupt message or two and they are out of luck. This a DoS both against the user and the admin... Thoughts? -- Joe Laffey | Want to convert subnet masks between different LAFFEY Computer Imaging | notations, or figure the number of IPs in a block?
