Also the problem that I ran into that prompted me to try installing a newer version of courier-imap is that I upgraded to fedora from redhat 9, and the imap over ssl function stopped working, and I keep getting the below message in my /var/log/maillog file..
imapd-ssl: /usr/lib/courier-imap/bin/couriertls: error while loading shared libraries: libcom_err.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Any idea's how to fix that?
Recompile. This is a known issue with Fedora.
Anything that uses OpenSSL must be recompiled after upgrading to Fedora. OpenSSL clients compiled on RH 9, and earlier, will not work after upgrading to Fedora, and must be recompiled.
