I'm not sure I understand your question. It looks to me like it worked fine. You canceled the first message and a cancellation notice was in the queue to go back to the sender. From the cancelmsg man page: cancelmsg removes a message from the mail queue. There will be no more attempts to deliver this message, and a standard delivery failure notice is sent to the return address listed on the message. If you cancel the second message then the queue should be clear. Were you not able to cancel the second message without manually deleting the whole queue?
