I have just finished configuring Amavis-ng with Clamd on my Courier server. It is currently only active on my account and seems to work fine with the test file. Before I set it loose on the entire mail server and disable the external scanners, I was wondering what some of you could tell me about ClamAV.
Is it reliable? Have you had any problems with viruses getting through? We are currently using Symantec AntiVirus for Gateways. It works well, but I would like to move toward something that can integrate with Courier. The problem is that I don't know too much about ClamAV and if I switch over and then a virus gets through, my boss is not going to be happy with me! I guess my main question is this: is the Amavis-ng/Clamd combination stable and reliable enough for a production environment? I apologize if this is a bit off-topic, but I think I can get a more balanced opinion here than in clamav-users.
