Hi group,
While following the included html installation documentation for
courier-0.44.2, I ran into trouble doing the perftest1 after the install
seemed to go relatively smoothly. As a normal user, I execute " sh
perftest1 1000 "daniel-test-1 daniel-test-2 daniel-test-3 daniel-test-4
daniel-test-5" " and receive the error, "env:
/usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail: Permission denied". The file
/usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail has permissions of -r-s--x--x, owner is
root, group is courier. I tried changing the permissions of sendmail to
755, but that still resulted in the exact same "permission denied" error.
Adding the SUID bit onto the 755 mode of sendmail didn't make a difference
either.
In /var/log/mail/errors I get "submit: No such file or directory",
though I don't understand the significance. /var/log/mail/info looks fine
with standard startup and shutdown entries, and /var/log/mail/warnings is
empty.
I searched google for my errors and mutations of them, and came up
with no solutions. The file permissions for /usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail
seem ok to me, so I would guess a task sendmail is doing is actually
generating the "permission denied" error, but I am at a loss for what to
try now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
-Daniel
