did you check the permissions of sendmail? These are working ones: [EMAIL PROTECTED] mirko]$ ls -l /usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail -r-s--x--x 1 root daemon 143394 Nov 4 08:29 /usr/lib/courier/bin/sendmail
I guess the last x is missing on your system.
If this is not the problem, I suggest you run strace with sendmail on your system (available for Linux, I know that there are similar programs for other Unices). This will show you where the ERR comes from.

Arghhh, it was that sendmail lost the setuid flag.
